Sports Trainers, who have current Level 1 or 2 National Accreditation, are available to provide Sports First Aid and Sports Trainer services at any sporting event. Our Sports Trainers have extensive experience in managing sporting injuries and incidents and are all trained to provide quality, immediate injury care to athletes.

What are the benefits of Sports Trainer Coverage?

As an event organiser, you are well aware of your Duty of Care and legal liability including risk management which needs to be considered when budgeting for events.  By having a dedicated team of Sports Trainers on hand, you can minimise risks and provide medical and first-aid treatment the moment an injury occurs. Our team provides all the relevant medical products and supplies to deliver quality injury prevention and management for your event.  Ice is easily accessible by individuals for early injury management.  

SMA-SA Sports trainers provide education on injury prevention and management including provision of educational brochures.  Referrals, as needed, are preferably to individuals own Health Care provider otherwise members in the individuals local area. Our Sports Trainers wear easily identifiable uniforms and you will also have a Sports Medicine staff assigned to your event to look after the administration and logistics involved with the Sports Trainer personnel.

How do we cover you?

All our Sports Trainers are SMA Nationally Accredited, abide by the SMA Code of Conduct, are Nationally Police Checked, Child Safe Environments trained and fully competent in sporting injury prevention and management.  Sports Trainers have skills and knowledge in the areas of sports taping, soft tissue injuries, hydration, stings and allergies, as well as first aid skills such as CPR, wound and fracture management. All of our Sports Trainers are fully covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance and SMA-SA carries appropriate Public and Product insurance policy.

What events can we provide Sports Trainer Coverage for?

Sports Injury Management Service (SIMS) can be used for any sporting event, whether at a school sports days, local, regional, state, national or international level. We are able to support juniors, seniors and masters competitions.  Some events that SMA-SA has provided Sports Trainers for in the past include:

Sports Trainer Coverage Request Form

Ideally request forms should be received at least 4 weeks prior to the event. For large events (including multi-sport events), a minimum of 3 months notice should be given. Upon receiving the request form, further information and a quote for services based on the requirements outlined on the request form will be forwarded to the contact details provided.  Late applications will be considered.

What does Sports First Aid Coverage Cost?

As costs differ dependent upon each event requirements, SMA-SA is able to provide you with a detailed quote upon request.
