SMA-SA are also able to arrange physiotherapists, doctors and other medical / healthcare professionals that you may require to cover your event.
What are the benefits of Sports Trainer Coverage?
Sports Organisers must consider many risk factors associated with their events. Dedicated Sports Trainers may assist to minimise the risk of injury by providing appropriate pre-event advice and by rapidly treating any injuries that do occur. SMA-SA Sports trainers can treat and refer athletes for appropriate further medical investigation if necessary. Our Sports Trainers can be easily identified in their distinctive uniform and can be stationed at various positions around the event for rapid response. In addition, staff at SMA-SA can assist with the planning and administration of the injury management of the event.
How do we cover you?
SMA-SA Sports Trainers are Nationally Accredited, abide by the SMA Code of Conduct, are Nationally Police Checked, Child Safe Environments trained and fully competent in sporting injury prevention and management. Sports Trainers have skills and knowledge in the areas of sports taping, soft tissue injuries, hydration, stings and allergies, as well as first aid skills such as CPR, wound and fracture management. All of our Sports Trainers are fully covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance and SMA-SA carries appropriate Public and Product insurance policy.
What events can we provide Sports Trainers Coverage for?
Sports Injury Management Service (SIMS) can be used for any sporting event, whether a school sports days, local, regional, state, national or international level. We are able to support junior, senior and masters competitions.

What does Sports First Aid Coverage Cost?
SMA-SA is able to provide a detailed quote on request. This will include the cost of the Sports Trainer(s), First Aid supplies, ice for injury management and, if necessary, a First Aid ‘tent’ with treatment table where injured athletes can receive the best care.

Sports Trainers Coverage Request Form
Request forms should ideally be received 4 weeks prior to the event.
For large events (including multi-sport events), 3 months notice is preferred.
Late applications will be considered but may incur an increased administration fee.
